Mohanlal is an Indian actor and producer who primarily works in the Malayalam film industry, which is based in the state of Kerala. He was born on May 21, 1960, in Elanthoor, Kerala, India. Mohanlal made his acting debut in 1978 with the Malayalam film "Thiranottam," directed by M. Krishnan Nair. However, it was his role in the 1986 film "Rajavinte Makan" that brought him widespread recognition and fame. Since then, Mohanlal has acted in over 340 films in a career spanning more than four decades. He is considered one of the most versatile actors in Indian cinema and has won numerous awards for his performances, including five National Film Awards, nine Kerala State Film Awards, and several Filmfare Awards. Some of Mohanlal's most popular films include "Vanaprastham," "Bharatham," "Kireedam," "Chithram," "Devasuram," "Narasimham," "Drishyam," and "Pulimurugan." He has also acted in a few Bollywood films and several Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada films. Apart from acting, Mohanlal is also a successful producer and has produced several critically acclaimed films under his banner, Pranavam Arts. He is also a trained classical singer and has sung for a few of his films. In addition to his film career, Mohanlal is actively involved in philanthropic activities and has supported various social causes, including healthcare, education, and environmental conservation.
